“Animals” is a song by American pop rock band Maroon 5. It was written by Adam Levine, Benny Blanco, and Shellback and produced by Shellback. It’s the second single from the album V, released on August 22, 2014 on Vevo. A snippet of the song was previewed in a Kia Soul commercial in which was published on August 21 on YouTube. The following day, the single was released and it was confirmed that it would be performed on the MTV Video Music Awards. For a limited time after the commercial premiered, the song was available for free download on the Kia website.
