Justin Blau played guitar and piano and sang, but had his perspective changed during a 2011 trip to Sweden, where he was won over by dance music. By the end of June that year, he was operating as 3LAU and uploading mash-ups to YouTube. Shortly after that, he started his Dance Floor Filth series, had his material spun by prominent DJs — including Porter Robinson and Bob Sinclair — and was commissioned for official remixes, including one for Zedd's...
